My name is Stacey and I live in Swansea, although I originally come from a little town in Suffolk. StaceyI make a variety of soy wax and beeswax candles and I started Pink Peppermint Crafts in 2014 when it became clear that I made just too many candles for one (sane) person to burn!

I make scented soy wax candles in unwanted tea cups, bowls and glasses. I love this kind of repurposing and it means that I never know what kind of candles I’ll be making next. Also, it means that a lot of what I make is limited edition.

Soy wax is a natural product, so it’s better for burning in the home. The soy wax I use in my candles is sustainably produced too. It also doesn’t produce as much soot as paraffin wax — I’m sure you’ve burnt a candle and noticed the black soot staining the top of the candle container after it has burnt down a little.

As well as in container candles, I use soy wax to make tealights, votives, floating candles and scented wax melts for use in burners. The great thing about soy wax is that, because it’s natural, the candle container can be reused when the candle has been burnt — as long as it has been washed in hot soapy water!

I’ve also been experimenting with making rolled beeswax candles. Beeswax is another natural product, and burns more slowly than other types of wax.

You can find me and my candles at various craft fairs in south Wales — click here for a list of my craft fair bookings. My candles are also available to buy online.
